Tasting Note:
Unlike other Albariño, Chan de Rosas was aged in brand new French Burgundy oak barrels for 6 months. The fermentation process made this wine a fuller, richer style with great texture, complexity and creaminess. It has aromas of white floral, bright citrus, pome fruits and apple sauce flavors layered with a good mineral presence and nuances of oak. It is a fresh and persistent wine that has a long toasty finish. It will pair nicely with a range of seafood, goat cheeses and egg based dishes.
About the Vineyards / Producer:
The Albariño vineyards, where the wine Chan de Rosas is produced, are located in Galicia, Valle del Salnés, Pontevedra. They are farms with vineyards planted in some cases more than 70 years ago, in the areas of: A Carabuxeira (Sanxenxo), Padrenda (Meaño), Cabeza de Boi (Méis), A Pedreira (Sisán), Castrelo (Cambados) and Lores (Meaño), which grow quality Albariño grapes. There are shallow but well-drained soils from granitic rocks erosion, resulting in a sandy soil and acidic structure. Both the locations of the vineyard and the soil composition give the salinity and minerality characteristic to the wine.
