“By now, you’re certainly heard the hype over the spectacular 2009 vintage in Bordeaux.  If you’re looking for a winewith more depth and substance than basic Bordeaux AOC but you don’t want to wait another year for the big names to be released (and several more years waiting for them to be approachable!) Château Fort-Lignac represents the perfect middle-ground.  This shows aclassic Bordeaux nose of sour cherry, tart blueberry, graphite, decaying leaves, smoldering embers and a finish of mineral and espresso.  It’s great now but has the balance and weight to age and even improve." - Kevin McFadden (US), August 30, 2011

Tasting Note:
Chateau Fort Lignac is one of the best 2009 Bordeaux wines at a great price value. It carries fabulous aromas with great length. The wine has depth, structure and finesse. The predominance of Cabernet is a striking feature of its bouquet and flavor. Coffee, vanilla and cassis are on display in its aromas and on the palate. Dry and medium-bodied with excellent fruit concentration, fine textured tannins and smoky undertones.

About the Winery:
Fort Lignac is a small property of about 25 acres located in the Bordeaux Haut-Medoc district. It is owned and operated by Superstar 2nd Growth Property, Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou.
