Vines, like people, often reach their peak in the face of adversity. This highly limited cuvée (only one barrel per year) is hand made from 100-year-old vines that suffer daily to survive in dense slate soils on steep hillsides. Their fruit offers a unique mineral complexity that could come from no other place on earth and has done so since Carthusian monks first planted vines in Priorat in the 12 century.

Tasting Note:
Matured 10 months in 100% French oak barrels. Straw yellow color with green highlights and golden rim. Expressive and complex aromatic intensity featuring ripe fruits, white flowers, quince, peach and other exotic fruits on a spicy and mineral bottom. Well balanced, with good structure. Wide, sticky and voluminous mouth feel with great concentration where the mature fruit is felt. Great acidity and mineral character. Dry, very persistent and aromatic finish.

Gran Clos Blanc is the perfect companion to foie gras, blue cheese and any meat, fish or shellfish dish prepared with fruit.

About the Producer:
Gran Clos' bodega has 32 hectares of the finest vineyards in Priorat with the oldest vines being over 100 years of age. Gran Clos was rated the #1 winery in a blind tasting among their peers, top critics, sommeliers and international judges in the 00's.
