Critic Reviews:
95 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2005 Lealtanza Club Reserva was sourced from vines over 75 years of age and aged for 18 months in Freah oak. Deep purple in color, it sports an already complex nose of cinnamon, clove, incense, lavender, black cherry, and blackberry. More concentrated than the 2004 Reserva Especial, it has enough structure to evolve for another 6-8 years and should see its 25th birthday in fine form. As usual, the latest releases from Bodegas Altanza are first class." (6/2011)
92 Points International Wine Cellar (Stephen Tanzer) - "Bright violet. Exotic, perfumed bouquet of cherry and day berry preserves, cola and gingerbread, with a slow-building floral element. Deeply pitched red and dark berry flavors display impressive concentration and a velvety texture. Becomes spicier and more energetic on the very long, snappy finish, which repeats the dark berry and cola notes. Powerful but elegant wine, with the balance to reward patience." (10/2011)
